Verbatim or Falcon (FTI) gold/silver archival media: what to choose?

Hi

I know there has already been a lot of discussion on this item and I’ve already read quite a few debates here on gold archival media.

The thing is: I intend to purchase either

http://www.falcon-media.net/format.php?format_id=10&n

or

http://www.verbatim.com/prod/optical-media/professional-optical/cd-r-archival-grade-gold/ultralife/

Both are gold and silver dual layer CD-R meant for archival purposes. I cannot make up my mind as to which one to buy as I’m very inexperienced with CD-R quality. Which item would give the best results? For now, all my music is on genuine Taiyo Yuden/JVC. But I want a back-up for these too before I swith over to USB or SSD or external hard disc.

P.S. I am aware that no CD-R will ever last that long, but I need some peace of mind with my CD-R collection.

Any advice?

Lol. Quoting myself here. I have been told by a reseller who sells both items (the real deal, no fakes) that both are manufactured by FALCON (FTI). Falcon is just cheaper. That should be it. If you still have remarks, just fire them. I’m all ears. Thanks.

LOL  Welcome to the forum.

Glad you found someone else who was willing/able to spill the beans about that.

Go ahead and save some money ;).
