Neither Moser Baer nor CMC Magnetics worked well in my old Sega CD. That may still work in your PS1, but here is my experience.
Both discs would lock-up during video clips; I assume this is because (I’m guessing) the Sega’s memory cache could not buffer the video, so it had to be read continuously from the CD, and the old laser could not read the disc well enough to keep up.
In any case, I do not think you will be happy with either make of CD. But it is still worth a try. If you can buy 5 or 10 of each type (CMC and Moser Baer) and try them, I would do that, but you may still end up ordering a better CD.
If you can find all-black Memorex CD’s, they may be made by Ritek. Those discs work perfectly in my Sega CD.
