I’ve been using the slower speed Verbatim DL media, and it is fine…no problems for me. I recommend burning at 4x on a regular drive, but your laptop drive might do better burning at 2.4x.
If they have the Verbatim DL 2.4x locally, I wouldn’t hesitate to get them if they are within your budget. And this way you can be sure of country of manufacture.
Thanks a lot for your help… I know this seems obvious, but when I looked over the packaging at OMax, I couldn’t see any country or production; should I be looking for something more subtle like a manf# or anything else to tell it is from Singapore? I am so excited that a brick and mortar store carries Verbatim, because my huge HDD just ran out of room believe it or not and I need to make some very important backups.
***PS: I have heard once that when making something for archive purposes (to keep it for years, in a safe as a backup of my data) I should only use +R, or -R? I have no idea what the difference is to be honest, but is there a better one than than the other for certain tasks and what’s the advantage/disadvantage? THANKS!
