Hmmm it may perhaps be a bad burn, despite the quality scan not showing anything substantial.
Perhaps re-copy the disc with your BenQ and write the files again @ 4x to see if that helps. Slower is not always better but if it still does not work I’d say the notebook drive just doesn’t like the media+writer combination.
Oh and an obvious question that I don’t think was asked: There aren’t any scratches or unburnt spots on the disc are there? If you burn a disc with lots of dust, it will have a number of unburnt spots where the dust blocks the laser.
EDIT: Btw, I’ve had discs show amazingly good quality scans yet not worked in older DVDROMS so it can just be that the drive does not read that media very well. What kinds of burnt discs have you used that have worked (mediacode)?
