Verbatim dvd quick question

I recently bought a 25 pack of Verbatim DVD’s in Germany marketed as…

Verbatim DVD+R 16x Speed 4,7GB Wide Printable Surface 25er Spindel DVD-Rohlinge [Elektronik] from “CDWelt24”

They have a company logo embedded on the outside perimeter of inside ring and it’s virtually impossable to overprint. Is this a (new) feature of these dvd’s? Is it common?

My Verbatim 16x DVD-R Wide Printable do not have such markings (they are plain printable 21mm/118mm/48.5mm) with Reorder# 43533 (50ct).

Same dimensions, Reorder #43539 made in Taiwan

I haven’t seen open spindles of Verbatim DVD+R printable #43539 though it looks like it’s isolated to +R wide printables. My -R are also Made in Taiwan by CMC Magnetics.

IIRC, the 10 and 25pk’s have the logo, where the 50pk’s do not.

At least that’s the experience I have had.

That kinda sucks. It’s a good thing I always buy in 50s.

Thanks for the info. That’ s nonsense from Verbatim and tacky sales practice but I suppose I should have checked Verbatim website first…
