Got your pm…I guess I should have left my post, but I was just getting some AM coffee and my old brain hadn’t kicked in yet with the caffeine jolt…anyway here it is…again.
First off, going to suggest that you ask a mod to move your thread where it would get more traffic (got moved when I was posting).
In particular, I was hoping Arachne (England), Dee-27 (Scotland) or some UK freaks would jump in to advise.
I see kg_evilboy and Arachne responded…
I think all Verbatim +R DL 2.4 - 4X are MKM 001
I’ve never used the printables, but I’m pretty sure these are 001 and if Arachne says so, then it must be so…besides, never argue with her, she has very sharp claws…
The thing is…you have to stick with MIS. Don’t buy MII…they’re crap and a waste of money.
You have to actually look at the label to see the production location.
Your first scrreenshot shows MIS…
Translated, this means you have to purchase in a brick and mortar store, cuz online, you can’t be sure what you’re gonna get.
MIS has been hard to find in the states, but are starting to appear again…
maybe Verbatim caught enough $hit from consumers and they’re cranking out more MIS.
Shipping costs from the states would be prohibitive and I don’t think many or any retailers ship to the UK.
Anyway, my sources won’t help.
All Verbatim +R DL 8 - 10X (MKM 003) are MIS.
These tend to be pricey, but work well.
With these babies though, you have to have the right burner and firmware (same with all media though, just more picky here)…I had to experiment and create a few coasters.
My Liteon LH-20A1S (9L08) did great with the 001’s but I couldn’t get it quite right with the 003’s.
Right now, I’m getting perfect burns with my samsung SH-S203B (SB01) at 8X. Only drawback here is that samsung doesn’t have firmware that supports bitsetting.
No big deal, you have to bitset with an outside app like nero or Img, although now you can use Img as a burning option in Fab.
Hope this helps, sorry I couldn’t be more help.
Good luck Ice
