Verbatim 2.4x dvd+r DL MII 20 pack$23.99

I live in Canada and was just in Future Shop looking for some blank dvd's. I found some Verbatim 2.4x dvd+r DL MII 20pack on sale for 23.99. Picked myself up some to try since they made in India I only get 1 pack. From what I have been reading on this forum the MII DL medai is not bad so I hope I made a good purchase.

Hehe…you won’t find MIJ Verbatim DLs to my knowledge

@GJ - since you’ve already picked them up, why not give the MII discs a try and see how they burn in your particular burner.

Don’t believe everything you read on the net. So many opinions are a couple of years late, because people just keep on repeating them without ever checking their facts. CMC=crap, TY is the best, MII=crap, etc… that’s just gossip.
(there is always a kernel of truth to these, but they get outdated very fast just the same).

Taiyo Juden (always MIJ) are the best bar none.
I don’t agree. Was kinda true with 8X TY media, specially the +R.
But with 16X media, I think Verbatim has a clear edge over Taiyo Yuden. Excellent performance, better stability, more compatible, cheaper, easier to find, full brand warranty.
Why not give the MII discs a try and see how they burn in your particular burner.

EDIT MMmh, the original post refers specifically to DL media, so I admit that my a part of my comments may be kinda irrelevant… - I’ll leave “as is” just the same. Sorry guys

Well thanks for the replies everyone. Crawlez Verbatims are not made in Japan but they are made in MIT {Taiwan}. Arachne I will be trying them out that why I picked them up and also remembered that some people on the forum said they good so I thought I would post how much they cost and where to find them. Francksoy your thoughts are welcome about the blank media And for sl discs I use both ty’s and verb’s and nothing else. But I will be giving these MII DL verb’s a try and maybe post a disc scan and a quality scan later also.

Look forward to seeing some quality scans/TRTs etc.

SL-wise, to start with the MII stuff was a bit below par, but they’ve improved tremendously in recent years, to the point where I have no hesitation recommending them.

Hopefully the MII DLs will follow the same path.

well I did scans with nero but the disc quality scan not work correctly here are the screen images of the scans. Have no idea if the disc quality is correct as it stopped half way through it. Anyways I went back to Future Shop and looked at there DL discs on sale and found some DL MIS mixed in with the MII. Also they have some SL MIT on sale for 29.99. The sale ends on June 26 I believe witch is tomorrow. Let me know if these scans are good and if the disc quality worked. If it not worked let me know how to fix it so I can post one that is correct. EDIT: The disc quality would not let me use my LG dvd multi drive on my computer but it let me use my sony dvd rom drive.

My Samsung SH-203b routinely gets scores around 95 for MIS dual layers, you would think MII would be around the same?

I wouldnt really say MII is BAD ,maybe its not quite up to par with the MIS but bad would be an overstatement IMO they actually burn really well and scan pretty good for me and some of the recent posts on here.

Also Verb 16x pwn TY its not even close!
