Verbatim is as good as it ever was, with the one caveat being that Prodisc has been in recent serious financial trouble (which I’ve repeatedly mentioned), and this also means that the quality of Prodisc manufacturing has gone downhill. As long as you avoid Prodisc Verbs, you shouldn’t have any problems.
People who can’t get good burns from MBI or CMC Verbs just have burners that suck. Get a real drive like a Nexperia BenQ, a Sanyo Plextor, or an NEC Optiarc, and you’ll be good to go. Stop using those Britney Spears burners and you’ll have fewer problems.
Also, learn how to clean and maintain your drives. I’ll bet that at least 50% of the burning problems reported in this forum are due to burners that have been abused with smoke, dust, static, and general neglect. If a drive is treated right, most of the time it will burn right.
