Using old media for ps1 burning

Hello,

I am requesting some opinions on my PlayStation 1 burning setup and methods. I have some older hardware and media.

I am using

Plextor Plexwriter PX-W1610A

Mitsui Gold CD-R 74min Unbranded
Disc ID: 97m27s55f
Manufacturer: Mitsui Chemicals Inc.
Start Time of LeadIn: 97m27s55f
Last Possible Start Time of LeadOut: 74m05s10f

Mitsui Silver CD-R 74min Unbranded
Disc ID: 97m27s56f
Manufacturer: Mitsui Chemicals Inc.
Start Time of LeadIn: 97m27s56f
Last Possible Start Time of LeadOut: 74m05s11f

Burning at 1x

PowerRec: OFF

Using Imgburn

Burning bin/cue when possible.

Should I increase my burn speed? Are these discs good for PS1 backups at all?

In my admittedly limited and dated experience the best media for PS1 backups are those made by Taiyo Yuden (regardless of brand) and I was getting the best results by burning them at 8x speed (on my ancient LG and Teac CD-R burners).

That’s all futile if the source of these backups is not proper…
