Using DVD Decrypter to backup Layer1 DVD?

I think this will produce backup with no loss in quality, but wanted to double check…

Steps Using DVD Decrypter:

  1. DVD Decrypter > Mode\ISO\Read > Rip contents to HD
  2. DVD Decrypter > Mode\ISO\Write > Burn Contents to DVD+R

Would this not produce 100% backup with no loss in Video & Adio quality?

You mean a single layer disc? yes that way you just rip and burn so theres no encoding involved hence the same quality as your source file

While the video objects’ quality is the same as original as there is no transcoding, it is not really DVD-Video 1:1 copy, especially when you can remove the RC, RCE, PUOs, etc.
Also you can burn on DVD-R. For DVD+R you might have to consider booktype bitsetting for compatibility with older players (search the forums).

The firmware I’m using for my NEC 3520 auto bitsets both to DVD-ROM booktype so that’s covered…Thanks to these forums that was something I learned about prior to buying my drive.
