I have Windows 7 Ultimate x64 which has directx 11 pre-installed. However, my gpu supports only upto directx 10. So when I am playing games, am I using directx 10 or 11 or anything else? If it is running on directx9, is there some way to install DirectX 10 over the preinstalled DirectX 11?
Thanks in advance.
Getting full benefit of Direct X11 requires some hardware that is not included in any Direct X10 video card, but your card will run at its full capabilities under Direct X11 anyway, since it (Direct X11) is compatible with earlier hardware. It retains the Direct X10 API in other words.
You don’t have to change anything.
