First off a general consensus that government is too big, to taxing, too intrusive and overspending is not much of a platform given that these same issues have been election year fodder since the 1940s.
What exactly does then Tea Party plan on getting done? Where is their platform that provides one specific as to how they want to accomplish things? What have their candidates promised? To reduce tax, not overspend, stop the intrusions that both parties fully supported via the Patriot Act. The Patriot Act that allows for wiretaps and seizures without warrants issued by one single magistrate (as required in the constitution)? Who got fired over that?
These politicians are doing nothing except blowing buzz words up everyone's ass. I'd love to see the accountability you speak of and God knows you can't confine the BS in capital hill to just one party. However, I bet the Tea Party is long gone before much of anything gets fixed. In fact, I would be willing to bet the Bush tax cuts will be down the tubes and it will be well after the first of the year before anyone gets anything done on taxes.
I'm sorry to sound negative, but I don't see anyone busting their butts in DC trying to get things done after this "so called" revolt. I am betting few politicians are going to get ulcers either. I am more prone to believe that the "Artful Dodgers" know how to play the public like a fiddle. Yes we can keep saying we are going to fire them, but Harry & Nancy still have great paying jobs in spite of their record, the Health Care Bill and their Immigration stance. That surely isn't the accountability the Tera Party is talking about now is it?
