I’m going to buy a new cdrom on friday.

Now I’m asking what would be best, the ultraplex 40x scsi or the kenwood 72x ??

It has to be fully compatible with clonecd
(I’ve checked the clonecd site but none of them where listed)

I already have a Aopen dvd 1040 Pro and a plextor 8/2/20 on an adaptec scsi 2930 card

thanx in advance

ultraplex 40x is compatible with firmware 1.01 heb er zelf eentje.

kenwood 72x schijnt problemen mee te hebben met sommige cd-r’s.

If it was up to me, I would go with the Plextor, they make the best drives, plus it’s scsi. The kenwood however seems like a really nice/extremely fast drive. You also said you wanted to be compatible with Clone CD, but I don’t see any need for that, since you have a cdwriter that you can use with that.

You also have a DVD Rom and a Writer so maybe you’re better off spending the money somewhere else.

thankx for the replys
I bought the ultraplex.

Oh, Xman, I know my writer can read and write wit clonecd but it takes 8 minutes to read a cd and with the ultraplex 4 or 5.

I have to “backup” a cd or 20 a day so It will save me about 1,5 houres a day
