Upgrade... how?

vbimport

How do I upgrade my client? Can I just simply unzip the files over the old ones? I would like to keep the settings though cause I don’t want to setup it again. I want to upgrade cause my clinet does not recognize my CPU…

I’m currently using version: 2.8007.458

I am using the same version as you.

This only affects versions v2,8010.* so you are okay…
You do not need to change your dnetc client.

Well I did upgrade. I saw there were some advantages with the new version (better use of core’s etc.) so I downloaded version v2.8010-463 and it worked just fine!

[Feb 28 14:14:32 UTC] Automatic processor detection found 1 processor.
[Feb 28 14:14:32 UTC] Automatic processor type detection found an AMD K7-4 processor.
[Feb 28 14:14:32 UTC] RC5: using core #6 (RG/HB ath).

See

Sure it works now, but Distibuted.net will soon not count the work units you send in using this version !!! So you will be cracking for nothing shortly.

Huh I thought that versions v2.8010 were good (I have dnetc v2.8010-463-CTR-00071213 for Win32 (Windows 4.90).) This should be ok, right?

I see I only finished 36 packages yesterday while I had my PC on for quite some hours!

I’ve the same problem, it’s goes to slow for me. If my PC is running the whole day RC5, I still got 120 packs +/-
On a P3 700, I thought that it would be go faster…
Does anyone has any idea?

No for me that’s not the problem. If I leave it on all day I will have about 200+ packages but I cannot leave it on all day. My problem is that I’m not sure if all my packages yesterday were succesfully submitted. I’m doubting if the distributed.net client version is ok… Could anyone tell me this?

Please read this !!!

version RC5 Client bug in version v2,8010.* is not good !!!

you are using so

I downloaded version v2.8010-463 and it worked just fine!

it seems to me that you are using the bugged version !

#9

Are you sure? Because I used this version all day yesterday and indeed there were 84 packages submitted by me…

Ah wait, now I see. Check this:

Stats credit will continue to be given up until the time we start rejecting v2.8012 work.

We will pre-release fixed clients ASAP, but once again for the time being please downgrade to v2.8010 or before.

The 12 version has a bug, and not the 10 version

Problem solved

upgrading is simply replacing the exe i believe, the ini contains all the settings
