I have an update KB2267602 for Windows Defender, will not update, went to update troubleshooter, clean install, still no good. Any ideas. T.I.A.

I would need to have the error code generated from the failure to be able to pinpoint your trouble, but on a general level:
- The defender service may be disabled.
- Some 3rd-party security products may intentionally disable Windows Defender to prevent mutual interference.
- .Net framwork trouble.

Xercus, thanks for the help, I realized I installed my own ant-virus and Defender turned off.
It is related to permissions as the error is “Access denied”, The microsoft link for the exact error is:
To download the latest uppdate manually go here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/923159/en-us
After download, you can try to install the update manually.
