Update DVD firmware in WinXP?

I’m trying to update the firmware for my NEC 2510 to enable RPC1. My problem is that my shuttle box doesn’t have a floppy drive so how do I update it ? I have tried the windows updater which failed and tried updating in a dos box within windows which also failed.

The only way seems to be to boot to dos, but how do I do it ?

you might need to create a bootable cd, for eg., using the files from Windows ME boot floppy. more @ http://www.herrie.org/ & http://forum.rpc1.org/index.php
