Apple’s operating systems OS X and iOS were vulnerable to an attack that allowed to restart the devices by attacking them with a single malicious IP packet.

Every system has it’s vulerabilities. Heck, there are now viruses out for computers embedded in cars (some of which have been installed by dealers and manufacurers, who then make a profit by making the users pay extra to regain some of their freedom). That’s why we need our systems to have an open source code. After all, the sheer quantity of malware, both those installed by unsuspecting users and those pre-install, proves that having a few private researchers finding and fixing these vulerabilities just isn’t enought
