The hoax page is much a hoax as the orginating IPs for the messages are from American based roadrunner/@home cable networks. :slight_smile: I’m sure this UUID can just be stripped out or the ISO contents repackaged to get rid of it, but even then I’m not too thrilled about XP from what I’ve seen it’s just seems like another money maker shovelware from MS, I’ll stick to win2k until forced to upgrade.

So… Why is there a “unique” id in the RTM version of the CD? Isn’t the RTM version the one that is sent to be mass-copied?
