Your statement intrigued me...
I have just produced this file using the Generic.avi.avid.audiocopy from the "Bourne Ultimatum" and chose the DD5.1 English soundtrack
Firstly, I analysed the file with two analysis tools that I use all the time to check on inconsistencies. They are GSpot and MediaInfo. Here are the results:-
Codec : AC3
PlayTime : 1h 50mn
Bit rate : 384 Kbps
Bit rate mode : CBR
Channel(s) : 6 channels
Channel positions : Front: L C R, Rear: L R, Subwoofer
Sampling rate : 48 KHz
0x2000 (Dolby AC3) AC3
48000Hz 384 kb/s tot , 6 chnls (3/2 .1)
I then played these files on three PC Clients (Windows XP) on which the FFDShow codec has been installed and tested them with NeroShowtime, WMP11, VLC & WinDVD 8. All play perfectly with 5.1 sound.
I then tested the file with the following Network Media Players:-
Again, all played perfectly with 5.1 sound.
So are you suggesting to me that because KMPlayer will not play your file, this analysis is wrong and there is something wrong with all these players.
To be quite honest, I have never heard of nor tried KMPlayer and I think a lot of other users would be in the same boat.
I cannot see DVD Fab allocating resources to investigate a problem in a software player that may be non-compliant in the first place.
I know I wouldn't...
