I have a problem in that I am unable to get my Pioneer A107D to work in DMA mode.
I read elsewhere in the forum that sometimes propriety IDE drivers (Nforce?) can cause conflicts. My IDE device driver is a SiS chipset IDE controller which I am unable to remove. As soon as I uninstall it, it re-installs itself when 'detected' on reboot.
System: Shuttle SG51, 512Mb Ram, 2x IBM deskstars on seperat IDE channel to DVD drive. DVD - A107D set to master on Primary IDE. Win XP
Software: Nero 6.1.3, Ulead DVD Workshop 2
I have tried everything else, the drive only functions when set to PIO mode. I had upgraded to a A107 after having used a n A104 for over two years. The A104 HAD to be set to PIO mode to function and one of the 1st things I did when I encountered problems was to re-install Win XP after a format.
Has anyone any suggestions that may help me sort this problem out?
