Unable to burn backup of PS1 disc

vbimport

#1

I backed up my ps1 disc quite a while ago and now the disc has been scratched rendering it useless. When I go to burn the bin/cue file to a cd it gives me an error message. I have used multiple computers and also tried many programs such as Roxio creator and Nero burning rom. nothing has worked so far.

please help!

#2

What’s the error message? I used to backup Playstation 1 disks with BlindRead/BlindWrite but always had to patch the images before burning.

KEY_MEDIUM_ERROR is usually associated with bad media or incompatibility between media and writer.

Have you tried writing with ImgBurn to see if it has the same problem? Other than that you’ll have to wait for more expert responses

Edit: Also, try dropping your write speed to just under half the rated maximum for your media. Even if the write is successul your playstation will struggle to read the result.

Do you save all your backups in the downloads folder?

The ImgBurn log indicates a problem with the media; have you written any of these disks successfully? Also, have you written any other media recently? This would rule out a problem with the drive.

#7

yes I do put my backups in the downloads folder because I download the files to my computer from my disc. so i use downloads. I have burnt some mp3 files to a disc recently from the drive. I will try again on another computer today using imgburn. if there is an error then I will post the log.

#8

Apparently it was the drive, I now have a disc but not a modded playstation. is there a way to get around this?
