If I forget the unbelievable bad BD-R with Optodisc-MID these are the worst BD-Rs on the market.

Or is the Liteon not good with that media?

#11

Perhaps it is just a compatibility issue - I do not have any other BD-R drive to test except the very similar (hardware wise) Plextor BD-R PX-LB950SA, which does not support this MID at all and destroys the media during the lead-in write.
The error rates are rather consistent and do not get worse towards the edge of media.

#12

The error-rates are constant, right, but IMHO to high overall.

It´s bad that the Kodak are not available in Germany. I found em on Ebay but only on US-stores, the price of ca. 1€/disc is to expensive for this quality. CMC BA5 I will get for half the price and I know this media is very good.

#13

Aren’t we all buying, burning and testing all those obscure media just for the fun factor?
From the collectors’ viewpoint - they are worth getting (if you can get them for a reasonable price and in a small quantity) as they are one of the rarer BD-R media on the market.

#14

Well, I try many things for fun

But the price for below-average media should not be twice as good media

And BD-R is more difficult than CD-R and DVD, never had before so bad media like my cblu/Hq4u-Optodisc (awful at all) or RITEKBR2/BR3 (unreadable after 3 years). And since CD-R I had many different media, from things like Digital Storage, Fornet to TY.

But can´t remember I bought awful media for higher prices than very good media

Found it a lot cheaper now, ca 60Cent/piece.

But it´s still no great media

I think there is something wrong with this disc. But all I burned so far looks “cloudy”, the color changes.
