UK wants to block all Internet porn, ISP’s say it’s impossible.

[newsimage]http://static.rankone.nl/images_posts/2010/12/pWpn04.jpg[/newsimage]Internet porn is something that parents around the world try to keep their children away from. Typically, they have had to implement software content filters on their home computers to block offensive content, but British Culture Minister Ed Vaizey thinks that this kind of filtering should be done at the ISP level to take the burden off of the parents. But at least one British ISP doesn’t think its feasible task to accomplish, and would set a dangerous precedent for government internet control.

I’d wager that this MP also supports Public Dunkings and Witch Burnings as well.
Probably spends more time standing on his bible than reading it.
As for Parents being too lazy or stupid to take responsibility for their children, Keep Your Bloody Pants On and you won’t have to take responsibility.

It’s kind of ironic since the technology that has allowed the human race to record the act of our conception, there are those whom have deemed it evil to look at, even the practice sessions and all the mistakes. I would truly feel sorry if the British members lost access to the “Daily Thong” as I believe the whole butt fetish thing began there, it’s where I learned of if during that summer of 1973. Denise Grey, Manchester, what a beauty! There was nothing pornographic about that, though it is recorded very well in my mind. (All guy us do this). The mental archives of man’s past relationship memories are inherently pornographic.

it should be down to individual households to decide what can or cant be viewed on home computers, not the government. what would be the next thing that people couldn’t access on the ‘net’? what excuse is going to be used? tip of the iceberg here. porn is always used as a starting point. it will lead to full internet censorship, just as is happening in other countries (due in the main to US pressure). wont be worth having a connection soon. wonder how much money governments are going to lose then? wonder how many companies will cease to trade because of these ridiculous measures? wonder if they have thought of that, or even give a damn?! this is all about controlling the people! as usual, nothing else really matters!

WTF happened to Net Nanny software … or just plain old adult supervision?

It’s obvious that adults should just turn kids computers off (why do kids have their own PC anyway??), and buy them all a box off knuckle dusters, or cricket bats, or tennis racquets & send them off unsupervised to play in the yard :iagree:

I’ll second that one. I just purchased my son a 70cc minibike for Christmas, my wife wanted Wii. She got the Wii but I got him the minibike. That way I could teach him about motors and all the other fun things that come with working in the real world toys. My son mostly plays simulators, like “The Babylon Project”, “Babylon 5 I’ve found her”, and all the flight simulators (FS2002/2004) IL2 Sturmovik, CFS2/3, “The Battle of Britain”). No first person shooters. The computer is in the great room and he cannot go on it unless I am there. He is 11.

He probably has an extensive porn collection of his own.
