UK store now offers a Sony HDTV with built-in PS2.

[newsimage]http://static.rankone.nl/images_posts/2010/12/uhMqME.jpg[/newsimage]In a move that has left gamers and consumers scratching their heads, a British electronics store is now selling a Sony Bravia HDTV that includes a built-in Sony PlayStation 2. Please note that the reactions from the complete site will be synched below.

Only in England you say?
Not surprising for a country that drives on the wrong side of the road, drinks warm beer and can’t standardize something as simple as an elictrical plug.
This unit will be a service nightmare as depending on which part of the TV breaks (display or game) you’ll have to take it to 2 different service shops.
TV service shops won’t touch games with a 10 foot sledge hammer.
Here in North America Sony has 2 integrated Bluray/TV models that we can’t give away. The Bluray will die long before the TV and repairs will cost as much as a new TV.

Since it’s a PS2 that only supports SD and DVD sounds like it’s “test markeing” right now.

If this proves to be a marketing success other countries will get it and w/ a PS3.

They should have put a PS3 in it in the first place!

Not really called for.

As it’s only in the UK, it is probably Sony trying to make up for the fact that they are screwing us over, as we seem to have no new PS2s over here when they are easily available ever where else.

scratch scratch scratch

Gee, what will they think of next. A headrest with a 7" tft screen and built-in GameCube?

I suspect their next major release will be a car-roof mounted 576i Flatscreen CRT with inbuilt sega master system :iagree:

I’d rather have a LetCool then.
