Just be careful these are not premium rate telephone numbers, or it could cost a lot to make the call. They can basically charge what they like :frowning:

#6

Thanks! That did the job!

#7

No problem. People arnt there to give away money, so if it sounds that good, it probably is to good to be true.

#8

I think the biggest suss point is:

You might be wondering how we got your email
Then they ask?
14. Email Address: ____________________________________________

Sounds like they sent out a bot to gather addresses in the hope they can put a name to the address.

#9

Calling you a generic name is easy, as they don’t have to find out your real name before sending an email to you and 10,000 other people. If it was real they would start “Dear Mr Nicholls,”.

Poor grammar and spelling shows that it is unprofessional, and is often a good give away of a scam.

The final thing to remember is that people with official business don’t use e-mail as a valid way of contacting people. Not only is it untraceable, it is also so open to fraud. Whether its the RIAA telling you you are being taken to court, somebody sending you a prize, somebody telling you a relative has been killed, it wont be done with email if it is official.

Yes, definitely a FAKE…

Its prize winnings, so they are Tax-Free
