UK government: IE6 is safe enough

According to “The H”, the UK government considers Microsoft’s Internet Explorer 6 (IE 6) web browser to be sufficiently safe for use in government departments.
They don’t see any improvement if they’d switch to another browser that would justify the migration costs.

Even Microsoft claims IE6 is risky nowadays.

UK government - isn’t that this gang of data collectors who regularily lose USB sticks and CDs with sensitive data in the bus or the subway?

And if I think that they run Windows based systems (with IE6 of course) on their nuclear armed submarines, I feel sick
