edit: make that "an idea..."
There were some "homebuilt" exFAT drivers going around for awhile that allowed reading and writing the exFAT file system on xp. They were using the drivers from Vista/2K8.
MS evidently saw the value of releasing the drivers for XP and did so, so can get them here: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=1cbe3906-ddd1-4ca2-b727-c2dff5e30f61&DisplayLang=en. Unlike the previous hacks, these also update the format utility.
I was wondering if any driver 'pros' have ever tried the same for UDF? I've tried copying the udfs.sys from vista over to my xp machine, using the vista registry values, etc. but i can't get it to work. If it worked, i think it might be a better option than the Toshiba and other third party UDF drivers going around because they're usable on non-optical media as well, and possibly more stable.
Anyone want to give it a shot?
