Twitter wants to provide its users with more relevant advertisements and contents and will therefore keep track of apps that users have installed on their phone. It’s possible for users to disable the “feature” that collects the data.

Everybody spies on Internet users. I am not surprised.

I don’t understand why people download these social apps in the first place. If I want to browse Twitter, I would much rather use a web browser, as opposed to wasting valuable space on a program that will be used to spy on everything I do.

As for computers, according to my experience people do “this” because they don’t know they can perfectly do “that” so that it will work as well. But at least the feature can be disabled… or can it [B]really[/B]?

I think it’s always best to assume that everything you do online is monitored by someone somewhere even if you think you’re reasonably safe.
