Twelvemaxx = 12101b?

I am pretty sure that the memorex twelvemaxx is a liteon 12101b.
having power calibration errors with nero and thought a change of firmware may cure a few of these problems. The firware revision of the drive is LSXA.

Could anyone tell me which firmware to try to flash to? LS22 or LS38? or something else, The latest firmware on the liteon site does not work.

It’s a LTR-12101B.

You may use pflash and flash it with the latest ls3j(If I remember correctly) firmware. You may grab both pflash and the bin firmware from my firmware place.

got a crc error when trying to extract pflash.

I have same Memorex MAXX 1032.
but I do the same error : flash to LTR-12101b firmware.

the burner can only read.

I’m looking for LSXA firmware too.

Never heard of this one. The latest one was LS3J23, the one before it was LS38.
Have a look @ Firmwares: LTR-12101B

wsaintcr is asking for the original firmware LSXA to be able to revert back to a Memorex MAXX 1032

the bin file size of the fw included inside rw7120a_130.exe is 512k
and the original firmware is 256k

All the binary files @ alexnoe’s page ( the above link ) are 256 KB.

Try one of those, since the LSXA firmware is none other than a modded LiteOn one.
It’s most likely that your former flashing went wrong somehow,
so just give your drive another chance by using the LS3J23 ( LS 233J.exe ) Window flasher and see what happens.
AFAIK, this was the best ever FW for this drive.

Personally , I have no problem :cool: , my old Memorex TwelveMAXX 1232 has been changed to a Lite-On 12101B LS3J23, with a plain success at the first attempt. My old FW was LSX2.
But after many researches on the web , I’ve been unable to find the original LSX2, in case of failure, PFLASH is obviously unable itself to perform a FW backup, so I praid 5th and changed to LTR 12101B, and it worked :smiley:

To reply to your advice, dhc014 has proposed to wsaintcr to revert to a Memorex with a Ricoh FW, and what I said is:
Ricoh FW is 512 K and you need a 256 K FW

I think wsaintcr has to do :

  1. Launch nero and choose Image Recorder, close Nero

  2. In os gui, delete the hardware profile corresponding to the installed burner

  3. Power off the PC

  4. Power on the PC

  5. Flash the memorex with LS17 FW in dos mode

  6. Power off the PC

  7. Power on the PC

  8. Launch Windows, the detection process should now detect a Lite-On with LS17 FW

  9. Flash the Lite-On with LS3J23 FW in Windows mode

  10. Power off the PC

  11. Power on the PC

  12. Launch Nero and choose the Lite-On LTR-12101B (LS23)

Normally it should work fine
That’s what I’ve done and no problem at all for me
Let’s hope it will work for wsaintcr

Si tu suis les indications que je t’ai données, il y a peu de raisons que cela ne fonctionne pas pour toi si cela a fonctionné pour moi.
Enfin fais les tests et dis moi si tu as réussi à résoudre ton problème.
