TV Size and Type

Hi Everyone:

I am in the process of converting all of my VHS (commericial) tapes to
DVD. I will be using the Grex or the Sima DP X7000 with a VHS recorder
and a DVD recorder. These are two (2) seperate units. My questions are:

1 - What type of TV should I get. HDTV/Plasma (I Don’t Know)

2 - Do I have to have a TV in the loop. Could I just hook up the
VHS, DVD and Signal Stabilizer and start recording? Or, do I
need the TV set from #1?

I am very greatful for all of the help in advance. Thanks.

  1. go to a big store and look for yourself
  2. you can record blindly, but why would you?

GREAT ONE
I have a PLASMA now PANASONIC 50", and it looks incredible.
I also have an VIZO LCD. 32" and while it’s basically a cheapie.
The picture isn’t bad for 1080P using the HDM1 cable. I personnelly
like the way the PLASMA looks, However if you have the cash to
blow. You could look into SAMSUNG’S seies 6,or 7 led or lcd HDTV’S
which have a blur free feature called auto motion ,which is pretty
cool. You will get better results with a set 40"'s or above.
Hope this helps you.
GOOD LUCK ZAP.

Let’s correct something.

There is no such thing as a LED T.V., They are LCD’s with LED back or side lighting.

Yes your right there isn’t any led t.v. I was only referring to
the picture quality on the SAMSUNG series 7 HDTV’S. Still everyone
has to make up their own mind on which is best.
ZAP.

I wouldn’t say “no such thing”. Sony has that OLED XEL-1 11" TV for sell. Thing costs an arm and leg though.

Only in terms of the misrepresentation that the T.V. companies are using right now to sell to the consumers.

Currys, PCWorld, Dixons, Comet et ALL are calling them and refering them as LED TVs. Is that missleading the public??

Yes, In my opinion.

Are you saying the Sony OLED tv isn’t straight OLED?

My reference is to LED not OLED.

OLED’s and LED’s aren’t the same thing, they completely work on different principles.

There is no back light.
There is no twisting of crystals.
There is no additional light source need to energize the organic color compounds.
