Welcome to CD Freaks.

Is there anything in the Device Manager that isn’t successfully installed, or that has an exclamation point/bang next to it?

When you run DVD D., do you get any error messages? If not, try ImgBurn and see if that gives you an error message in the log about being unable to detect drives.

Also, with what make and model of computer is the issue occurring?

i have a hp model number a6532f

i have uninstalled it and installed it wheni do try to burn wiht nero it will only let me make and image

dvd decreptor wont even see the drive

but hte my computer i see the drive and it reads and stuff

Does DVD D fail with any specific message?

Have you installed any other extra software that helps with CD/DVD image creation and such?

Did you install the nVidia SATA drivers yourself, or did you left Windows Vista install its default drivers?

@ pacman23,

For troubleshooting suggest installing the ImgBurn (http://www.imgburn.com) software program. After installing the ImgBurn (http://www.imgburn.com) software program Burn a Disk. Then post the complete full ImgBurn Log File.
