[qanda]This thread is about the Samsung TS-L632D. Click here to see full specs[/qanda]At first, I flashed the drive using the original flash-utility I downloaded together with the matching firmware but made a mistake, so it got misflashed.
While browsing through this board I found a post by someone who managed to get the drive back on track by using the XSF utility.
I tried the same, using a different firmware this time, an original Samsung one which is known to work with that drive (SC04): http://www.ailis.de/~k/archives/36-Dell-firmware-problems-with-TSSTCorp-TS-L632D-DVD-drive.html
XSF's output looked promising, as it said to be successful.
When I rebooted my laptop, the drive wasn't even recognized by the bios anymore, the led glowing all the time.
mtkflash shows "ERR: fail to initial ide port" on every # (1,2,3,4). It doesn't recognize the drive anymore...
Is there still anything I can do?
Thanks in advance!
