Firmware D600 for this drive has been published recently on Dell support website.

Burn process started at 3x (4,155 KB/s)

? A very uncommon speed setting. Try 4x or 6x.

PMA update failure

This might be the reason why your burn is not successful. Possibly media related, or there might be some dust on the lens. So, apart from the updated firmware as recommended above, try other media and see if you can clean the lens. Do not use one of those “cleaning discs”.

Use Verbatim media & imgburn, then post the logfile.

yeah its a dell T1520, I tried a dvd-r and it works like a charm which is odd. I dont think so its a media related problem cuz the same data I failed to burn before , worked when I tried the dvd-r .
Im just gonna send my laptop to the manufacturs and let them now whats going.
thanks guys for the tips
cheers.
