TSSTcorp CDDVDW SH-S203B ATA Device

I’ve a Samsung OCTOedge (TSSTcorp CDDVDW SH-S203B ATA Device) I am using this DVD-RW drive for almost one yr … recently i realised that DATA burning up to 4.4 GB using NERO, ROXIO even windows VISTA copy-paste renders A DATA-DVD which can’t be read. However, if i burn up to 3.5 GB there is no Problem. … any suggestion…

Hi and Welcome!

seems as it you have some media related issues.
Please tell us the MID (use “Disc Info” tab in Nero CD/DVD Speed or DVDIdentifier), and also what speed you selected for burning.

Maybe it helps to use known quality media (like Verbatim) and lower the burn speed to 12x (or something like that)

The quality of these discs is variable, often depending on the brand they are sold under.

As suggested, try burning at lower speeds (12x or even 8x). And I wouldn’t trust these blank for precious data.

Michael

well… to clear out the problem if i was you i would go buy a single verbatim dvd +/- R and after that burn the verbatim dvd to its full capacity, and see what happen if it work… you will know that your blank dvd type your using is not really good media to trust for burning…

My CD-Rom can detect the cd but could not able to access because it didn’t show any icons in Mycomputer

…that is no “CD-Rom” but a DVD-RW drive.

Delete the upper & lower filters as a start.
