TSST TS-L632H HS02 does not burn

HI,

I have TSST TS-L632H HS02 in my windows XP compaq f572US laptop. I have Nero and ultraISO.

I tried to burn an ISO image and it didn’t burn the DVD. It can read the movies on dvds but sometimes really unreliable and stop working.

If I update the firmware, would it help? Please tell me how to do it.

I installed the ODD Live update from samsung website but it says, it does not support my drive. WTH.

I also use MCSE and got patched d500 firmware with RPC1 patched and then tried to flashed with tsdwin but it said non compatible firmware.

How do I get it working? Please help

Thanks

Hi and Welcome!
I have TSST TS-L632H HS02 in my windows XP compaq f572US laptop. I have Nero and ultraISO.

I tried to burn an ISO image and it didn’t burn the DVD.
Is there any error message? You might also try the free ImgBurn to burn the ISO onto a blank disc.
Please also tell us the MID of the blank media you are using. Insert a blank disc and run Nero CD/DVD Speed please.

It can read the movies on dvds but sometimes really unreliable and stop working.
Are these original discs or copies on DVD+/-R?

If I update the firmware, would it help? Please tell me how to do it.
I doubt, this is a problem that can be solved with other firmware. But you can try it. Check HP support website, if there is a newer firmware for your drive. Also search for additional support information on HP support website.

I installed the ODD Live update from samsung website but it says, it does not support my drive. WTH.
You have an OEM drive that is supported by HP, not by Samsung. Samsung’s live update does only support retail drives. And since such tools are often dangerous, I do not recommend using them.

I also use MCSE and got patched d500 firmware with RPC1 patched and then tried to flashed with tsdwin but it said non compatible firmware.
That’s normal either. This time, you tried to flash a Dell OEM firmware onto your HP OEM drive.

It IS possible to force flashing firmware of another OEM drive (please read the FAQ in my signature), but you will void any warranty. Maybe even the warranty of your entire notebook might be void.

How do I get it working?
Contact HP support, if your notebook is still under warranty.

Michael

I don’t have warranty any more. Those movies are original that I try to play.

Below is the log file when i tried to burn an ISO image.

Looks like the burner doesnt really like the Sony DVDs.
I suggest you try with TY or Verbatim dvds firs

Also, an firmware update would have to come from Compaq/HP.

Just what I thought, look here: http://forums11.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/bizsupport/questionanswer.do?admit=109447626+1235297394674+28353475&threadId=1164228

It used to burn Sony DVD +R fine before. :frowning:
There must be something else. May be these drives are junks.

Have you already cleaned the lens?
Do not use one of these lens “cleaner” discs for that purpose.

Additionally, you may try different media (as already suggested) and different speeds.

No Man… I never touched that lens.

Could some one suggest me how to flash that drive’s firmware? I read some forums saying, they changed the firmware and got it working. But I never read, how to do it. If I get proper instructions, I can follow them.

I have update.
I followed juanaltamira instructions to change the firmware but dvd burner still cant burn the dvds. It can read all sort of dvds though.
