Trying to flash... PROBLEMS!

hi, i have the new lite-on 40x cdrw drive and im trying to flash it with the new update provided on the lite-on website.

well... when i try to flash it with the .. the progress bar moves about 1/4" and from there it sorta stops responding... i wiated for 4~5 minutes and still nothing happens.

Im using windows 2000..

now my nero reads my 40x as 32x!!

can somebody help me :frowning:

Hi there, sorry I can’t help you out with your problem, but I seem to be having a similar problem with my 32123s. I’m trying to flash it from XS0U to XS0X with similar results.

try taking smart burn off and see what max writing speed you get.

  1. Check that DMA is disabled.
  2. If you’re flashing from Windows, disable any antivirus software or other background tasks that may be running.
  3. Do not use CSEL. Drive jumpers should be set to either master or slave.
  4. Download the firmware again and try to flash the drive.
