Trying to direct copy or create a disc image of an audio cd and retain all metadata

Hey all, thanks in advance for your help.

I’m trying to copy my band’s master cd which contains all song info and metadata, and retain this info on all subsequent burns of the disc.

I’ve used Ashampoo and Clone CD to try to do a direct copy. I’ve also used both programs to create a disc image, but the track data is lost on reburn.

What software would you recommend to do the job right for me?

Hi,

could you please give some information about this disc?
Is this simply an audio CD with CD-TEXT or is this something enhanced with combined audio and data sections?

In case it’s audio with CD-TEXT, then I’d try Exactaudiocopy (EAC). You need to adjust the software in order to have it read the CD-TEXT information.

When I want an exact copy of a disc I use Imgburn (free download).
Start Imgburn & select “create image file from disc”.
Select a destination.
Click on large icon @ bottom left of Imgburn window & it will create an exact copy on your hard drive.
To burn a disc from this image load blank disc & choose “write image file from disc”.
Select the disc image (.cue file) as source & your disc drive as destination.
Click on the large icon @ bottom left of Imgburn window & it will create an exact copy on your blank disc.

Normal CDs can replicated using the ways explained in above posts (imgburn).
CDs with special formats like ie. CD+G need special capable hardware.
