Trouble with burning ISO files

Respect to all,

I have Toshiba Satelite 50 Series and until about few days ago I didn’t have any issues burning justabout any DVD protected or not protected. I use Shrink to create ISO file and use either Img Burn or Nero to burn them onto disks. Suddenly I’ve started getting these kind of error messages (bellow) but I can still burn music and AVi files without any problems. Can someone help?

Here is the last error message. I lowered speed onto lowest as someone suggested that I try that. Thanks guys

Seems your writer has a serious hardware error. Try booting in safe mode (F5 before booting) and try again to check if it’s not a piece of software that’s annoying the writer.

Try at 8x rather than 2x as you may have better luck using a sensible burn speed for this 16x media.

#6

The Matshita UJ-841S is a laptop burner with 8x as the maximum write speed for DVD media.

If this drive behaves anything like my Matshita UJ-840S, burning at 8x (2.4x - 4x - 6x - 8x Z-CLV) is not going to be much faster than burning at 6x (2.4x - 4x - 6x Z-CLV) but the chance of bad quality at the end of the disc will increase enormously. I only burn at 8x on that drive when forced to do so with burning programs that don’t offer a choice of burning speed.

The safest choice for high-speed media in my 840S is 6x so it’s likely that the same is true for the 841S, but all DVD+R burns start at 2.4x and all DVD-R burns start at 2x, so if a 2.4x or 2x burning speed creates coasters, you will most probably also have coasters at any higher burn speed.
