I just bought my first DVD burner and am trying to make a DVD of two TV shows I recorded with ATI Multimedia Center. Unfortunately this is proving to be more difficult than I thought. Does anyone have suggestions?
I have two shows, each is just under an hour long. From ATI Multimedia Center I exported the two shows to mpeg2. One file is about 2GB the other about 2.5GB. Since the DVD can store 4.7GB I didn't think I'd have any problems getting these to fit. The first program I tried was Roxio DVD Builder 7.5. Unfortunately it complained that the project was about 400MB too big to fit on the disk, so I tried to trim the ends of the two videos and ended up with two 50 minute long videos, but DVD Builder now says the project is 7GB. How can trimming off 10 minutes double the size? Doesn't make any sense to me. The only way it will allow me to burn the DVD is by using the lowest settings, but the resulting video looks like crap. Not even close to the quality of the original video.
I also tried using a demo copy of Ulead DVD MovieFactory and was able to very easily and quickly create a DVD, unfortunately the audio is not in sync with the video on the resulting DVD.
I also tried using a copy of Nero Express 6 that came with the drive, but didn't have any success. It complained the files were too large and didn't give me any way of editing them.
Anyone have any suggestions?
