Traxdata 4x burning @ 2.4x with ND-2500A

I just bought a Traxdata DVD+RW 4X and wanted tu burn a dvd video file.

But my NEC ND-2500A with latest Herrie f/w (1.07 v2 Dual Layer Bitsetting Beta 5) burn only @ 2.4x with DVDdecrypter.

Is there a way to boost that burning ?

nope, unless Herrie adds 4X support for that media in one of his next firmwares.

Strange thing, just burned another video ripped with DVDShrink, and it burned @ 4.1x with Blindwrite 5.1.10.136

Are you saying that the speed one can select for the burn is determined by the #x supported by the Firmware?

sorry for the newbie questions; I’m trying to extract understaning from the many posts here.

also,
How can you tell if 4x media will burn or is burning at 8x?
I just started using Nero, and also DVD Shrink for backups, and all i can choose is 4x, or 2.4, or 2x or 1x.

Thanks for helping this newbie.
