[qanda]This thread is about the Philips DVDR560H DVD Recorder/Hard Disk. Click here to see full specs[/qanda]I have a 3 yrs old Philips DVDR 560H recorder with a Lite on DDW-813S optical drive. The drive has packed up (I suspect it never worked properly from new). I am resident in in South Africa and the local Philips agent has indicated that a repacement optical drive is not available.
I have almost 150 gig of recorded TV programmes (on the hard drive) that I want to transfer to DVD discs. Can I remove the hard drive and link it temporarilly to a PC to record the stored programmes to DVD, and will the recorded information be readable and playable on a different playback unit?
What would be an alternative, could I transfer the files via the RCA audio and video connections?
