Instead of starting a new topic, I thought I would just add my frustration.
First, I have been burning and using MM version 6 for 3 years without any issues. SUDDENLY, I burned a dvd and the bottom half of finished DVD is green…I have read about these issues but the complaints were in 2007. Now whenever I try to bring a file (AVI) that I always burn into MM and bring it to the story board or even bring it into MM, MM crashes. I have Vista codecs package and FFD show audio, video, etc… but haven’t the sophistication to know what to do with the problem being “xvidcore.dll_unloaded”. I do understand that AVI is a “container” and that it may hold different things but that is about all I know…I know it is difficult for experts to get down to the basics for people like me, but if someone would try, i would greatly appreciate it…Thanks for reading!!!

PS I actually did convert to wmv just to see if MM would accept and send it to dvd maker. It did but can’t play the DVD on DVD players. I can use nero for regular DVD writing and for my DIVX player but do miss this sudden loss of Win Vista Movie maker. I don’t think I have chnged anything on my pc. Also, I have read that many people have had the above issues and are told to d/l the xvidcore dll. Of course I did this with no solution. I am not familiar with filters but went to look at what mine were and I was surprised that there were so many…since to laptop I’m on now has only one= "avi decompressor"and don’t know what to do with them anyway…Any advice would be greatly appreciated…Thanks for reading!!
