Thanks for a great review.

Having the same write speed on USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 is however to be expected. Since 20 MBps is not even close to the limit for USB 2.0 it is most likely something else than the maximum communication speed that limits the write speed.

My first thought when I first saw that USB 3.0 USB sticks existed was that it was some sort of marketing hype with no performance gain, but apparently the read speeds had improved much more than I imagined.

very nice review and tests!

I was considering buying this stick as it is not as expensive as others. You have convinced me now =)

I have with several Transcend Jetflash 700 USB 3.0 big compatibility problems.
They won’t be recognised at many computers.
For instance they work sometimes only on the USB 3.0 adapter but not on a USB 2.0 one.
They also seem to have problems on many Dell laptops (tested several models - 2-3 years old) - they work on the docking station and on the eSata/USB-adapter - but not on the normal USB ones.

If they don’t work then the control led will stay off.
I don’t have problems on TVs and Standalone-Players.

Sorry to hear about that. So far i didn’t have any compatibility issues with the Transcend Flash Drive, I have used in on various PC’s some very old ones and every time it worked flawlessly.
