I wasn't shocked to see Wiggins take 1:45 out of Evans in the ITT on Monday. I was more surprised to see Evans wait until the last 500m a couple of stages ago before launching any kind of attack - and then he faltered with his do-nothing 'companion' and Wiggins easily caught up with them by the finish.
Evans has to attack from further out than 500m, though. He can't hope to gain 5 minutes by piling up a few 10-second 'wins'.
Sky's certainly formidable looking, though, but I've never bought into the "all non-team riders are at huge disadvantage" during those times unless they're indeed weaker riders. Evans has done a few 4km attacks in earlier races this year - he'll need those to succeed.
