Since it states that HD-A2 will be out in October, it will be the first HDMI 1.3 player!

“it will be the first HDMI 1.3 player!” Good point. I am verycurious to read some thoughts on the improvement in picture quality.

http://www.valueelectronics.com/Toshiba_HD-A2_and_HD-XA2.htm indicates that only the higher end version have HDMI 1.3

they shouldnt have released gen1 of hd-dvd players, this is how hd-dvd was supposed to be, stupid hollywood wanting to make money quicker. will be interesting to see how expensive the xbox 360 hd-dvd drive will be and if they sell an internal version like xbox 360 ultimate edition.
