i've had trouble with memorex +r 4x (cmc mag f01) media. data verification failed if i burn them @ 4x. this was very dissapointing since those were the first disks i bought (i got the drive 4 days ago). no problem at all with traxdata -r 4x (ritekg04) and tdk -r 4x (ttg01) though i could't burn any of there @ 8x. i wrote a mail to toshiba tech and asked for an opinion and this is what i got.
CMC is a media manufacturer. Their media is not that great of quality. I would stay away from them and Memorex. TDK, Maxell, and Ridata have worked well.

Subject: toshiba sd-r5272 - what media to use?
hi. i recently bought a toshiba sd-r5272 and had a bad experince with memorex +r 4x discs (cmc mag f01). impossible to write on @ 4x error free. the only way i could burn them was @ 2.4x. i was under the impression that cmc mag f01 discs are ok and the tosh should have no problem with them. does this mean that my drive is defective? i tried a couple of tdk -r 4x (ttg01) that produced great burns. can i get a list of what brand of media is good for this burner? thank's in advance
