Toshiba ConfigFree software

I do not have a Toshiba laptop and I tried to get this software to run on my Dell, but it won’t run. I believe there is something the program looks for to see if the laptop is a Toshiba machine and when it sees that it is not, it won’t run.

This is an AWESOME program for identifying wireless access points. It is graphical in nature and allows for easy configuration of connections.

Does anyone know how I can try to get this program to run on a NON-Toshiba machine?

Thanks,

BDog

on the right search for “InstCheck”
and set its value to a toshiba laptop model
eg. “Satellite 5205”
i think it will work with any string value

TOSHIBA program called ConfigFree for Laptops with WI-FI, looks like a RADAR showing WI-FI Access Points, its made for Toshiba Laptops Only.
You ask: Can I buy this software? Per Toshiba site.
No, this software is only available with selected Toshiba notebook models. Users are able to download the ConfigFree software or any upgrade version for use on selected Toshiba notebooks, including some models, which did not originally ship with the software.

WELL it works. (It worked for me on HP Pavilion ze2800 series and a Dell Latitude C-600 and a Compaq Desktop ethernet).
For those of us that dont have Toshiba laptops, REGEDIT option can be made to run on other Laptop Manufacture Models.

There’s also a free program called ‘Net Stumbler’ that might be of interest to you. It’s apparently the prog of choice for ‘war driving’.
