Too Much Info ! My head is about to explode!

Hello. I love your forum. Packed with tons of info. Let me preface by saying i checked the “which one to…” thread already and i couldn’t find an answer. This morning i set off to buy a Sony DRU 710 from Office Depot, $149 with a $30 rebate. Before i went i decided to do a little research. 4 hours late i havent showered or left the house yet, and of course no new DVD burner.

Hacks and bitsettign and book marks aside.
I am an occasional burner, maybe 2-5 a month.I just want a burner that is gonna burn most media. I usually buy imation or Memorex dvd+rw( i know could be many types, they buy from many sources). i dont want to mess with hacks from naasty brothers or my cousin jimmy et all.

NEC 3500
Pioneer DVR 108-even hough i want the honeycomb tech from the DVR A08

ps it doesnt have to be the cheapest it just has to work when i need it to.

any of the brands you mentioned will work fine for your needs. the sony would be a good choice if you want to buy that one, as it has almost no “issues” that i have read of. note that ALL brands have their shortcomings in different areas, and that itz really a case of buying the dvd drive with the least “issues”.
