To buy or not to buy

Just got my first DVD burner for Christmas. I have successfully backed up 4 dvd’s using Taiyo Yuden 8X DVD-R with DVD Shrink or DVD Decrypter and Nero OEM suite. They seem to take about an hour to do each movie from start to finish. Not sure if thats good or bad. Noticed that for some reason, my NEC 3500 burns these 8X disks at 12X…don’t know why. Anyway, my question is, is retail software like DVDXCopy etc better that this freeware I’m using? Unless they copy as good and much faster, why would anyone buy that stuff?

Thanks,
Bastardo

DVDXCOPY has now stopped because of legal action\court cases etc so it will no longer be supported but there are other alternatives such as clonedvd\anydvd which are very good but not free…
My opinion is stick with dvdshrink if it works for you…
