TMPGEnc lots of problems

ne1 knows wat “invalid pointer operation” error means? it likes to pop this error wenever larry king break for commercial.

ne1 knows why wen converting avi to mpg, there’s no video but the audio is fine? necessary codecs are installed.

ne1 knows why wen converting a file, everything seems fine until certain min/sec, the video suddenly went blank but the audio continues fine and the conversion process will become very fast (for eg, from 6hrs time remaining to 1hr time remaining)?

ne1 knows wtf TMPGEnc 2.59 is so buggy or is it juz me or is it the avi file or i need to get my house exorcised?

ne1 knows whether TMPGenc (wen its period comes) likes to conflict with which apps? maybe nero? coz they both never get laid.

ne1 knows WHY oh WHY wenever there’s an error, u can’t launch TMPGEnc ever fooking again unless u reinstall or delete the two files “CurrentCfg.tpr” and “TMPGEnc.ini”?

ya i’m very frustrated but any useful answers are wel-saw-came-comed.

Maybe a good exorcism would help :bigsmile: but your problems lie with the AVI or to many codec installed.

is there a way to remove/uninstall codec IF they dont come with uninstaller? i suspect it’s “divX :wink: Mpeg-4 Video Codec” which i installed for some reasons which i dont remember… the readme file read like this:

====================================

	  DivX ;-) MPEG4 Hi-Res Video Codec
	3.11alpha release - http://divx.ctw.cc
		  ---------------

What’s new in 3.11alpha :
- Only fixes the CPU slider issue in the Direct Show decoder…
thank to Maniakzi for this…

What’s new in 3.1alpha :
- Now comes with a hacked version of M$ WMA audio codec
What’s NOT new in 3.1alpha :
- Nothing changes in the video codecs and filters

Why alpha stage ?
Because the WMA audio crack is far from perfect (max 16bit/44KHz @ 64Kbit/s) and
the WMA direct show decoder have not been cracked yet…
I need Help for This… Please post at Oleg’s forum…

The MP3 audio track encoded with older version of DivX :wink: is, for sure, playable
with this and newer version of DivX :wink:

=======end of readme file========

apparently it’s a hacked codec or watever it is i wld like to get rid of this sob if possible. (last resort is to use my sys restore cd, HD wipe)

any apps that can identify codecs installed and means to remove them? Gspot can identify thenm but no opetions to uninstall. any suggestions appreciated.

Thats the problem with codec, everyone generally starts installing any they find, then wonder why things dont work right.

Sorry, its a manual uninstall and Registry search and remove also.

and could you tell us how to do that? :o :eek: pleasE?

This an old thread and there are now tools avalable that can remove codecs, etc. Sorry I cant remember their names (I dont need to use them :slight_smile: ) but start with a Google search for “codec removal”.
